Spring is here! Enjoy it with a delicious Cider or Apple Juice

Cider Farm Tour & Tastings

Join  for an informative and enjoyable orchard and cider tour, in which you can stroll through the orchard and learn about the journey of making cider, from picking the sun ripened apples from the trees, to the harvesting techniques, the fermentation, the bottling and eventually the tasting of a glass of golden nectar.

This includes a tour of our beautiful organically managed apple orchard which has around 3,000 mature apple trees. We begin by venturing into the orchards where you will be introduced to some of the 16 varieties of heritage cider apples that we grow at the Cider Farm.  During the tour, we discuss some of the fascinating history and folklore behind apple growing and making cider in Britain.  We even participate in an imaginary Wassail or Blessing of the orchard!  We tell you about the important role of the bees to ensure pollination and how the apples grow.  Questions are always welcome.  We discuss harvesting techniques, cleaning and the pressing procedure on our big old belt press.  We tell you about the natural fermentation methods, before we take a peek into the Cider barn where the blending, filtering, taste testing and bottling happens.   We finish in either the Tasting Room or the Cider Garden for a master cidermaker led cider tasting of some of our delicious ciders.

Tours run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tours begin at 11am and finish approx. 12.30.

Booking is essential as we are limiting numbers to help facilitate social distancing and other measures at present.

Please dress for the weather as much of the tour is outdoors.  Walking shoes recommended.  Dogs are welcome on leads.

Children under 9's are free, while under 18's are half price and welcome to try some apple juice.

If you fancy lunch after your Tour & Tasting with us I would highly recommend the Hare and Hounds pub in Waytown only a short way down the road from us with beautiful views of the local countryside from their large garden.

If you want to stay the night in the area I would recommend the excellent Pineapple Farm Camp and Caravan site less than a mile from us.

For £15.00, not only do you get a cider farm tour, but also a guided tasting of 12 different ciders, a stroll through the beautiful orchards and organic farm. You will learn more about how we make our delicious craft ciders right from our enthusiastic cider masters who are happy to answer your questions.
