World Nettle Eating Competition Sat 22nd June at the Cider Farm

Join us on the Afternoon of Saturday 22nd of June at the Cider farm for the World Nettle Eating competition, Live Music, Food, Cider & Beers.

The Nettle eating contest has long been a uniquely quirky Dorset event. We are excited and honoured to host the World Nettle Eating Competition once again, here on our family run Dorset Nectar Cider Farm. 

Participants eat the nettle leaves from stalks of nettles for half an hour. After 30 minutes is up, the total lengths of the stalks(stripped of leaves) will be counted and the total length of nettle stalks counted. The person who eats the longest length of nettles will be crowned Nettle King for the Mens winner and the Nettle Queen for the Ladies competitors.

The energetic and locally renowned Look Around Corners band and the fantastic Skalatans! will be playing over the afternoon both of which we are very excited to have perform here.

Join us for live music, Authentic Mexican Burritos, Churros and Tortillas by Tortilla Cantina, Cider Sausages made by Bellair Haye Farm and local beef burgers by Oliver`s Kitchen and many excellent local fine Ciders and Craft Beers/Wines etc on tap with organic apple juice and sodas also available from our Farmshop/Tap Room

Come and relax in our Cider and Sculpture Garden or tent camp with us in the Orchard campsite for the weekend.
